MARIO V. CHALMERS FOUNDATION MAKES DONATIONS TO RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF NORTHEAST KANSAS AND MARIO’S CLOSET LOCATED AT LAWRENCE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL


(Kansas - August 19, 2013) - Miami Heat Point Guard and former
Kansas Jayhawk Mario Chalmers, on behalf of the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation, presented a check in the amount of $2,500 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas in Topeka, Kansas on July 30th.  The donation was a portion of the proceeds from the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation 5th Annual National Championship Classic Golf Tournament and VIP Mixer Sponsored by McDonald’s of Lawrence, which took place in Lawrence, Kansas on July 28-29th.  The two day event benefited Mario V. Chalmers Foundation, Mario’s Closet and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas. The check presentation ceremony took place at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas (825 SW Buchanan Street, Topeka, KS 66606) which
is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.


“We are so thankful to receive support from Mario and his
Foundation. The money they donated will be used to house a family of four for 36 nights at the Ronald McDonald House in Topeka. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be able to help out another family in need,” said Martha Hagedorn-Krass, CEO/Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas.


In addition, The Mario V. Chalmers Foundation will make a
donation to Mario’s Closet located at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in the amount of $5,000.  Mario's Closet is a gift to the community from the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation which offers affordable solutions to target the physical effects of cancer treatment, including wigs and salon services, mastectomy bras and prostheses, cosmetics, skincare products and more.


The Mario V. Chalmers Foundation is also pleased to announce that the 6th Annual National Championship Classic Golf Tournament and VIP Mixer is scheduled to take place on August 3-4, 2014 in Lawrence, Kansas.  In addition, the 2014 Mario Chalmers Miracle Shot Basketball Camp is slated to take place in Olathe, Kansas on July 28-August 1, 2014.
